AUS Affiliation Standard

AUS authors should follow a standard method for stating their affiliation when submitting journal or conference papers. Author affiliation must be correct so publications can be correctly attributed to authors and AUS in journals and in citation indexes.
The following guidelines should help:
  • Names and titles should be spelled out in full, i.e. American University of Sharjah.  Not AUS or American Univ Sharjah.
  • Use your ORCiD when submitting a journal article.  Make sure ORCiD profile is correct and up to date.
An example of a correct affiliation:
  • Author, Initial., Department, College/School, American University of Sharjah, Sharjah, PO Box 26666, United Arab Emirates
  • Example: Faculty, M., Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, American University of Sharjah, Sharjah, PO Box 26666, United Arab Emirates

Organizational identifiers for AUS

When submitting a paper, authors may be asked for an identifier for their institution.  There are various systems, with the most common (and the AUS identifier) listed below:

AUS Acknowledgement of Funding

The key elements when disclosing AUS FRG funding include:

  • The specific grant number
  • Initials of authors who received the award
  • Full names of organization(s) that funded the study or author

For example:

This work was supported by the American University of Sharjah, grant number FRG20-x-xx awarded to XX

or

XX is supported by a grant from the American University of Sharjah (grant number FRG20-x-xx)
