Go through the following steps to find out which version of your book or book chapter you can post to DSpace.
Is your book or book chapter Open Access?
- If the book or chapter is published Open Access, you can submit the Published Version.
- If it isn't OA...
Check the Publisher Website
- Usually found under "Self-archiving," "Green Open Access," or "Post-publication Policies"
- Look for policies specific to books and book chapters
- Large publishers usually specify which version you can post to an Institutional Repository
- They also specify how much you can deposit (often one chapter only).
- Refer to the list of Self-archiving pages on this guide
- If the self-archiving policies cannot be found on the publisher website...
Refer to your Copyright Transfer Agreement
- This is the document you sign when you publish a paper.
- They may specify which version you can post online and/or to an Institutional Repository

Email the Publisher
- Ask the publisher or copyright owner of your article for permission to post your book or book chapter on our Institutional Repository. Make sure to ask

- If there's an embargo period
