Add a JoVE Video Using the Embed Code

Before starting to embed videos, please log in to your JoVE account. If you don’t have a JoVE account yet, follow the instructions on this guide. 

  1. Go to JoVE (https://aus.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.jove.com/)
  2. Go to the video you want to embed.
  3. Below the JoVE video, click on the ‘<> EMBED’ button. This will open the Embed Tool
  4. Copy the Embed Code 
  5. Log into Blackboard Ultra.
  6. Go to the Course Content section where you want to add the video
  7. Click on the "+" icon > Create > Document
  8. Click the "</> HTML"  icon
  9. Paste the Embed Code
  10. Enter the name of the video in the Title
  11. Click Submit

Add a JoVE Video Using the LTI Tool

Before starting to embed videos, please log in to your JoVE account. If you don’t have a JoVE account yet, please sign up at https://www.jove.com/account. Make sure you select the role of “Professor / Instructor” when creating your account. This will enable students to access the videos off-campus.

  1. Log into https://ilearn.aus.edu/
  2. Open the course
  3. Go to the Course Content section where you want to add the video
  4. Click on the "+" icon"
  5. Click "Content Market"
  6. Click "JoVE LTI Tool"
  7. Launch
  8. Continue in a new window
  9. Log into JoVE (if not already logged in)
  10. Choose content type you want to add (Video, Quiz, or Playlist)
  11. If you want to add an individual video, you have to search for it by title
  12. Click "Submit"

Import a JoVE Course Content File into iLearn

  1. Go to JoVE (https://aus.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://www.jove.com/)
  2. Click on your JoVE account (the blue circle in the upper right corner)
  3. Click "My Playlists"
  4. Find the playlist you wish to import.
  5. Click "Download CC"
  6. The file will download as an .imscc file
  7. Go to iLearn (https://ilearn.aus.edu)
  8. Open your course
  9. Go to the Course Content section where you want to add the playlist
  10. Click on the 3 dots "..." icon next to Course Content
  11. Select "Import Content"
  12. "Import Course Content"
  13. Select the .imscc file
  14. The content will upload to your course

Add a JoVE Video to PowerPoint

Above is a simple guide on how to use JoVE in Microsoft PowerPoint. JoVE videos can not be embedded directly into MS PowerPoint, however, you can link videos to the presentation content.
