The Statistics Center undertakes statistical activities, carrying out the general census of population, and the count of housing and establishments. The Statistics Centre conducts economic and social statistical surveys and publishes statistical books and bulletins, for the Emirate of Dubai as a whole.

The Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-Stat) provides a common official pool of statistics and data for the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.

The FCSA is one of the official government sources for national statistics and is one of the government representatives on matters related to national competitiveness.
