Proper Bibliographic Reference Format:

  • Bibliographic references are double-spaced and indented half an inch after the first line.
  • Use italics and "sentence-style" capitalization for book titles.
  • Place of publication is no longer included.

In-Text Citations:

(Wodtke & Govella, 2009)

Alternatively, you can integrate the citation into the sentence by means of narrative.

Wodtke and Govella (2009) discuss eight basic principles of web design.

Ebooks

Citation Elements in Order:
1.  Author
2.  Publication date
3.  Title:
4.  Edition, if applicable
5.  Publisher
6.  DOI or URL

Reference Example:

Lastname, F. M. (Year). Title of book. Publisher. URL or DOI.

            1.          2.                                                   3.                                                       4.                     5.

Jackson, L. M. (2019). The psychology of prejudice: From attitudes to social action (2nd ed.). American Psychological
                                               6.

Proper Bibliographic Reference Format:

  • Bibliographic references are double-spaced and indented half an inch after the first line.
  • Use italics and "sentence-style" capitalization for ebook titles.
  • Use the same format for both print books and ebooks.
  • If the book includes a DOI, include the DOI in the reference after the publisher name.
  • It is not necessary to note that you have used an eBook when the content is the same as a physical book. However, you should distinguish between the eBook and the print version if the content is different or abridged.
  • Do not include the publisher location.
  • If the ebook is from an academic research database and has no DOI or stable URL, end the book reference after the publisher name. Do not include the name of the database in the reference. The reference in this case is the same as for a print book.
