Use this guide to get started with your WRI 102 research paper.  From selecting a topic, defining a research question, finding background information on your topic, finding relevant journal articles and getting help with APA Style, this guide points out useful sources and research tools - all recommended by AUS Librarians.

AUS Writing Center

Consider visiting the AUS Writing Center to talk about your writing and work with a peer-tutor who cares about helping you achieve your goals as a writer. 

The Writing Center offers:

Research Help Desk

Meet with a librarian for help getting started with your research.

Visit the Research Help Desk located on the first floor of the AUS Library.

No appointment is necessary.      

Librarians provide assistance and instruction in the following areas:

  • Using the AUS Library Catalog
  • Research Advice
  • Locating factual information
  • Locating articles and documents
  • Using journal indexes (on-line and paper)
  • Database search strategies

Library Classes

During semester, your professor will schedule a library session for your section in the AUS Library.

This is your opportunity to explore the library's electronic research tools and to learn about different research strategies from librarians.

Before attending your WRI 102 library session, you will need to access and complete an online library quiz via ilearn.
